Our Accessibility Commitment

Aspen Sky Technologies | aspenskytech.com Initial WAVE Audit: March 30, 2026 | Score: 7.1/10

Actively Working Toward Full Compliance

We completed our initial accessibility audit on March 30, 2026, and are actively remediating identified issues. Our target standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This page will be updated as we make progress.

Our Commitment

Aspen Sky Technologies is committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We're an IT company — we know better than most that technology should work for everyone, not just some people.

We're working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard recognized by courts and accessibility experts as the benchmark for accessible websites.

What We've Done So Far

As of our March 2026 audit, the following accessibility features are already in place on our site:

  • Page language declared — Our site correctly identifies itself as English-language content, helping screen readers pronounce content accurately.

  • Skip navigation link — A "Skip to main content" link is available as the first focusable element, allowing keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.

  • Image alt text — Most images on our site include descriptive alternative text for screen reader users.

  • No auto-playing media — We don't use auto-playing audio or video that could disorient or disturb visitors.

  • No accessibility overlay widgets — We don't use overlay "quick-fix" widgets, which research shows are ineffective and can actually make sites harder to use for people with disabilities. We're committed to real, code-level fixes.

  • Image alt text gaps — One flagged image on each page was investigated and confirmed as a decorative background image requiring no alt text per WCAG 1.1.1.

Known Issues We're Fixing

We believe in transparency. Here are the issues our March 2026 audit identified, along with our plan to address them:

  • Color contrast (in progress) — Some text and button elements don't yet meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required by WCAG 2.1 AA. We're updating color values site-wide.

  • Missing page heading structure (in progress) — Our homepage currently lacks a primary H1 heading, which affects navigation for screen reader users. This is being corrected.

  • Redundant navigation links — Some links are duplicated in ways that create extra noise for screen reader users. We're consolidating these.

Our Standard

We're targeting conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Department of Justice when assessing website accessibility.

We use a combination of automated tools (including WAVE by WebAIM) and manual testing to identify and address issues on an ongoing basis. We re-audit our site any time we make significant changes.
